Meet the team responsible for the largest, fastest-growing integrated site network in the country.

Michael Clay serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of Radiant Research. He is a Biopharma industry veteran working over 19 years in clinical development. During his career, Mike has held various leadership roles within the industry working closely with Biopharma companies developing new and novel products. Most recently, Mike returned to the United States after spending 5 years abroad in Singapore as Vice President, Asia-Pacific, for a global CRO’s operations in 14 countries throughout Asia. The organization grew to one of the largest in the region during this time. Prior to his time in Singapore, he was based in Beijing and served as General Manager of China for the CRO. Mike has led a portfolio of global clinical trials with trial centers across, Europe, North America, Asia and South America. He began his career in Clinical Development in 1996 at one of the largest Phase I clinics in the United States while completing his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology at Missouri State University. Mike lives in Arizona with his family and operates out of the Radiant headquarters in Tempe.

Management (in alphabetical order)

Atwood oversees the entire information technology operations of the company. His direct reports encompass network and server administration, helpdesk, and telecommunications. Atwood was brought onboard in 2014 to complete the integration of Radiant Research and Comprehensive Clinical Development, two clinical research companies acquired by Clinical Research Advantage. Atwood will also oversee the implementation of Clinical Research Advantage’s integrated platform for clinical research at each new site location.

Elizabeth has over 17 years of clinical research experience. She is responsible for developing business for Radiant Research CNS sites from emerging and established companies. During her tenure, she has developed strong collaborative relationships with key professionals within the CNS industry including pharmaceutical sponsors, CROs and biotechnology organizations. Her expertise lies in working with clients with their early phase development program through late phase development.

Christy Kelln began her time with Radiant Research in 2004 and has worked in a variety of roles within Operations. Her responsibilities include ensuring the sites’ staffing needs are met, guiding professional development, proactively identify and solve site and study issues, adhering to company and industry standards and assisting in field training and mentoring of new staff. Christy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology with a minor in Biology from Indiana University and a Master’s Degree in Physical Anthropology from the University of Montana.

Jennifer Kocour has worked with Radiant Clinical Research since 2006.  During her tenure, she has been involved in many levels of operations within the company.  She began as a research assistant, gained experience as a study coordinator and later managed sites as a Regional Director.  Currently, she is the Vice President of Operations for the West territory.  Ms. Kocour’s responsibilities include staff and investigator training, ensuring enrollment success and adherence to SOPs and industry guidelines.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Arizona State University and is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator.

Kundert is responsible for oversight of all operational activities at the site level and has been with Radiant since 1998. This includes patient safety, enrollment on trials, and quality data. Kundert works closely with all departments to ensure standardization across the sites. This means following consistent SOPs, source templates, QA processes, and standardized regulatory binders. Kundert holds a Bachelor’s in Nursing from Arizona State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Orvin is responsible for leading the business development efforts of the company and implementing marketing strategies to assist in securing clinical research studies. Since 2001, developing and maintaining strategic relationships and partnerships within the pharmaceutical industry has been a key component in Orvin’s career and in 2007 he joined Radiant Research to accelerate growth. Orvin holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Arkansas.

Smith holds an MBA from Arizona State University and has held positions of Public Accounting Audit Manager, CFO of a publicly-traded Deloitte Technology Fast 500 company, and Internal Control Consultant. As Chief Financial Officer of Radiant Research, Smith has won a 2013 “Best in Biz” award for Finance Executive of the Year.

With more than 28 years of experience in healthcare finance, Vesely has been a key component in the companies growth since 2001. Vesely and his budgets & contracting department have won two “Best in Biz” awards and accomplish contract turnaround four times faster than the industry average.
