RADIANT RESEARCH ANNOUNCES THE ACQUISITION OF THE CENTER FOR CLINICAL RESEARCH - AUSTIN, TEXAS

July 1, 1999

KIRKLAND, WASHINGTON - August 19, 1999 - Radiant Research, a leading Site Management Organizations (SMO), announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the Center for Clinical Research - Austin, Texas (CCR). CCR, comprised of three separate research facilities conducting Phase I-IV clinical investigations, is one of the largest multi-specialty clinical research centers in the United States. The research facilities are directed by Marshall R. Sack, M.D., a nationally respected leading research investigator. Dr. Sack is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and has been conducting multi-specialty clinical research since 1986.

Prior to the acquisition, CCR operated as a separate division of The Austin Diagnostic Clinic, a 140 physician multi-specialty clinic. CCR has successfully executed over 500 clinical trials in a wide variety of therapeutic areas. The CCR acquisition reflects Radiant's continued strategy of aggressive growth through a combination of acquisitions, greenfield site development and same-site growth.

"Joining Radiant Research provides us with a significant opportunity in the rapidly evolving clinical trials industry," commented Marshall Sack, M.D., Medical Director of the Center for Clinical Research - Austin. "We are now part of an outstanding group of clinical research investigators, where individual growth is fostered. It was also of crucial importance in our decision that we can place a high degree of trust and confidence in the competence and professionalism of the Radiant Leadership Team."

The CEO of The Austin Diagnostic Clinic, Robert Spurck, Jr., commented: "CCR is now integrated within an organization specializing exclusively in clinical research. This will allow CCR to rapidly expand its clinical research capabilities to all specialties residing within The Austin Diagnostic Clinic. Our physicians are very excited about the continued growth opportunities for them in the area of clinical research."

"We are very excited to have added a research site of the size and prestige of CCR," stated Michael K. Lester, President and CEO of Radiant Research. "The decision of Dr. Sack and The Austin Diagnostic Clinic to have CCR join Radiant is reflective of our reputation as a company of leading clinical investigators with a proven track record of outperforming industry expectations."
