BELLEVUE, Wash. – Radiant Research, a comprehensive clinical research company, today announced that it has completed the sale of its Early Phase Clinical Research Business Unit which included eight clinical pharmacology centers to Covance Inc. for approximately $65 million.

Both companies had previously announced entering into a definitive agreement on April 20, 2006.

Radiant Research provides study conduct and drug development services to the biopharmaceutical industry. The eight centers acquired by Covance specialized in Phase I/IIa clinical pharmacology trials. Radiant’s remaining 30 wholly-owned centers conduct trials in Phases IIb-IV.

Radiant’s clients and study participants can expect our Phase IIb-IV study conduct services to continue as usual. “Conducting clinical trials is our core business”, said Michael Lester, Chief Executive Officer of Radiant Research. “We focus on clinical research execution everyday.”

“Radiant Research maintains a proprietary database of more than one million study participants. Our goal is to align all of our assets which include our participant recruitment, quality and training programs in addition to our standardized operating procedures and centralized source documentation for rapid, turn-key study start up,” said Lester. “Drug development is an extremely complex business, and we are focusing on being industry leaders in the delivery of clinical research and development services.”
