Dallas, Texas. - Radiant Research Inc., a comprehensive clinical research company that provides phase I-IV clinical drug development services to the biopharmaceutical industry, today announced the opening of their new state-of-the-art early phase clinical research facility located at 1341 W. Mockingbird Lane, Suite 400, Dallas, Texas 75247.
"We are excited to be expanding our early phase capabilities by opening a new freestanding 120-bed clinical pharmacology research unit," stated Michael Lester, Chief Executive Officer of Radiant Research. "There is a strong demand for early phase capabilities, particularly in the cardiac safety monitoring arena. Recent regulatory developments have focused on cardiac safety testing for all drugs as opposed to solely cardio-active drugs." Radiant Research | Dallas Phase I has a dedicated 25-bed ECG room, a fully equipped telemetry station, and a dedicated pharmacy with sterile compounding capabilities. The research facility will conduct early phase studies in a variety of therapeutic areas but will specialize in cardiac safety testing.
"This new facility gives us the capability to conduct complex and challenging early phase clinical pharmacology studies for our biopharmaceutical customers," said Michael Davidson, M.D., F.A.C.C. "We are very excited to put our vast experience in conducting cardiology clinical trials to use in the development of our early phase capabilities. We believe we can provide significant value to our clients with our background and expertise in this area." Dr. Davidson, board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiology, serves as a medical director at Radiant Research and is a widely published author in the areas of preventive cardiology and a pioneer in metabolic research as it relates to cardiovascular risk. He is also a highly experienced clinical investigator who has conducted over 1000 Phase I-IV clinical trials.
Early phase studies test how new drugs are absorbed and processed in the body. Supervision and around-the-clock care are provided by full-time professional personnel, including physicians, pharmacists, paramedics, and dieticians. "We have designed our new facility to allow our volunteers to be as comfortable as possible while being closely monitored by our highly trained medical staff," said Chad Jaeger, Site Director for Radiant Research | Dallas Phase I.
In addition to its 45+ wholly-owned premier phase II-IV clinical research sites, Radiant now has seven 24 to 36-bed clinical pharmacology units open at their existing phase II-IV clinical research sites as well as this new freestanding 120-bed state-of-the-art early phase research unit in Dallas, Texas. Ultimately, Radiant Research intends to have 10 early phase units by the end of 2005 with approximately 500 beds, each having access to special patient populations and the therapeutic expertise of experienced clinical investigators.
