RADIANT RESEARCH REPORTS FIRST YEAR RESULTS

January 8, 1999

KIRKLAND, WASHINGTON - January 8, 1999 - Radiant Research, a company of premier clinical research sites, reports its first year of operation has been a great success. Since its incorporation in January 1998, Radiant has acquired ten dedicated research centers nation wide, four more than initially anticipated. Each of Radiant's clinical research centers is multispecialty in approach, although the company has developed a particular expertise in bone, diabetes, arthritis and lipids research.

"Our goal this year was to acquire five or six outstanding clinical research centers, and by November 1, we had ten sites on board. We have definitely exceeded our wildest expectations and are thrilled that such talented physicians have decided to join our team," said Radiant Research President and CEO, Michael K. Lester. "Our business model of a single, unified company is working, and Radiant is proud that we are overturning the perception that SMOs are networks of loosely affiliated sites."

Since January, the following Investigators have joined the Company: Stuart R. Weiss, M.D., of the San Diego Endocrine and Medical Clinic; Jacques R. Caldwell, M.D. and Howard Offenberg, M.D., of the Halifax Clinical Research Institute and Gainesville Clinical Research Center; Mark P. Ettinger, M.D., of the Clinical Research Center of South Florida; Richard D. Wasnich, M.D., of the Mana Institute (now Radiant Research, Honolulu); W. Thomas Garland, M.D., of Lawrence Clinical Research, and Marshall B. Block, M.D., of the M.L.W. Clinical Research Center (now Radiant Research, Phoenix).

"Since joining Radiant, we have been able to focus more on conducting trials and less on administrative work," commented Stuart R. Weiss, M.D., Medical Director of the San Diego Endocrine & Medical Clinic (SDEMC). "I can spend more time seeing patients and concentrating on studies which makes SDEMC more efficient and effective. It makes sense for sponsors to contract with sophisticated organizations that can successfully complete clinical trials in a fast and reliable manner, and can recruit much larger patient populations in a variety of therapeutic areas. SDEMC wants to be in the forefront of this transition, and we're confident that Radiant's high-performance group is the one to take us there."

Eric Hayashi, VP of Corporate Development, commented, "We have successfully completed the first phase of our corporate development strategy: growth primarily through the acquisition of nationally recognized research sites and same-site expansion. We are now prepared to embark on the second phase of our plan, which adds Greenfield site development. This combination of internal and external growth best leverages the strengths of our experienced sites, management expertise and capital resources."
