TWO ADDITIONAL SITES JOIN RADIANT RESEARCH

January 18, 1999

KIRKLAND, WASHINGTON - January 18, 1999 - Radiant Research announces the acquisitions of two premier clinical research sites: Mid-Continent Clinical Trials in Overland Park, KS and the Bone Research Center in Reading, PA. Mid-Continent Clinical Trials is led by Carlos A. Dujovne, M.D., an internationally recognized authority in hypercholesterolemia, hypertension and lipid research. The Bone Research Center is led by Ronald D. Emkey, M.D., a national leader in researching the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in women.

Mid-Continent Clinical Trials (formerly the Lipid, Arteriosclerosis & Metabolic Clinic at Kansas University Medical Center) began performing clinical studies in cardiovascular disease in the 1970s. Dr. Dujovne, an internist and clinical pharmacologist, has been the Principal Investigator on more than 150 trials studying lipid disorders, stroke, diabetes, obesity and hypertension. Dr. Dujovne has also published more than 180 original scientific articles in journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of American Medical Association, and the American Journal of Cardiology.

"We have been approached by many SMOs, but felt the Radiant investigator group stood head and shoulders above the rest," said Carlos A. Dujovne, M.D., Medical Director of Mid-Continent Clinical Trials. "We were also attracted by Radiant's Leadership Team, their sensitivity to our needs, and their ability to integrate sites successfully into the SMO world. We are anticipating a number of operational and business development benefits from our decision to join Radiant."

Ronald D. Emkey, M.D. has been a leading researcher in osteoporosis for over 25 years and has published extensively in major medical journals. As Chairman of the Rheumatology Section of the Reading Hospital, Dr. Emkey has been intimately involved in a number of important research projects. Since 1990, Emkey has expanded into a variety of therapeutic indications aimed at women's health, including the study of estrogen preparations and breast cancer prevention drugs.

"The sophistication of Radiant's business infrastructure was extremely compelling for us," said Ronald D. Emkey, M.D., Medical Director of the Bone Research Center. "We are excited to be joining an organization that can take a lot of the administrative work off of our hands, giving us more time to do what we do best - performing high quality clinical research for our clients. There is a very good fit with the Radiant Leadership Team, and I am certain they are the best group to take our research into the next century."

"The integration of these two sites is representative of Radiant's external growth strategy -- the acquisition of proven, high-performance sites with nationally recognized Principal Investigators," commented Radiant CEO, Michael K. Lester. "Dr. Emkey's decision to join Radiant completes our vision of bringing the best in rheumatology, osteoporosis and women's health research together into one company. We are confident that the Radiant team of bone research clinicians is the best in North America."

"Dr. Dujovne's decision to join Radiant is a major win for us given his extensive experience in lipid and obesity research, and his presence as a thought leader within that arena," Mr. Lester continued. "It further solidifies our capabilities in cardiovascular and metabolic research and demonstrates our continued commitment to a multi-specialty approach."
